Nevada Bob Prepares To Record His Memoirs as an Audio Book

Nevada Bob Gordon is preparing for another road trip, this time to Stillwater, Minn, where he is slated to produce an audio version of his memoir 50 Years with the Wrong Woman at Wild Horse Recording. If you are involved with Twin Cities media in any way, Nevada Bob would make a great human interest feature for TV, radio or print.

He will likely be recording at Wild Horse throughout the week. Owner/producer/audio engineer Daryl Bolicek is a great guy who is worth a story himself. To set up a time in drop in contact Daryl at wildhorserecording@gmail.com.

After a stint in the Navy Nevada Bob joined a 1960s Seattle Police Force that was a little lax ethically. At the end of the Sixties, as his cousin Richard Gordon was receiving a parade in his honor for circumnavigating the moon, Bob was being discharged from the police department for improper behavior.

This was the beginning of a series of adventures in various walks of life. The devotion to his wife Carol, and her reciprocal devotion, is what kept him going during the darkest times, including a knock-down drag out fight with cancer in his early thirties. As one reviewer put it, Bob is one tough hombre.

Late in life Nevada Bob began recording in Nashville, and after Carol's passing he wrote a song for her and recorded it as well. This led to additional songwriting adventures, with a few of these songs being sprinkled into the audiobook.

Here are a few photos, courtesy Gary Firstenberg, of Bob preparing for his trip to the midwest.

Home on the range.
One more read-through and we'll be ready to hit the road.
